5G in Brazil: Learn More About the Ultra-Fast Internet Technology that Promises to Revolutionize City Services and Infrastructure
How to use 5G in Brazil
For now, ultra-fast internet has been made available in 16 regions of Brasília.
The largest mobile phone operators have already enabled access to 5G for consumers with compatible devices.
Some companies offer free access in the first few months and will charge additional costs, around R$ 20, in addition to the already contracted plan. Not all operators require a SIM card change.
Where to use 5G
At the forefront of 5G, the expectation is one of revolution. Smart and connected cities, where on every corner, a 5G box distributes internet signal to chips in autonomous cars or robots in operating rooms. Setting aside futuristic scenarios, 5G is available on:

- Computers and laptops.
In Brazil, Anatel has released a list of 70 devices compatible with 5G and certified, meaning they are authorized for use and commercialization in the country.
Nearly Instant Downloads
With high-speed transmission and reception frequencies, 5G connections enable low latency rates, with data exchanges occurring in milliseconds.
But in practice, what will be possible?
- Downloads: Series and movies can be downloaded in a matter of seconds.
- Autonomous cars, without risk of accidents: According to research, by 2030, at least 30 million of the new cars sold worldwide will be autonomous.
